Trinity Church

What do I do when...

. . . I would like to add a name to the prayer list?
A name can be added to the prayer list by contacting the office: Either by calling 703.368.4231 or emailing info@trinityepiscopalchurch.org . People remain on the prayer list for three weeks. After that time, if you would like the person to remain on the prayer list, you need to call and give an update on the person in need.

. . . we are planning to be married?
Please call the office or email us. We will then send you a wedding application. We will set the date and time after we have received the completed application.

. . .  a new baby is born?
Contact the office immediately. We celebrate births with a gift basket for mom and baby, prayers of thanksgiving at Sunday service, and pastoral care is offered as needed.
The child's name and date of birth are entered into the parish records.

. . . I desire the Sacrament of Holy Baptism?
Contact Joanne Alexander to receive the schedule for baptismal instruction.

. . .  we are faced with a death in our family?
Contact the office immediately. A member of the clergy will contact you as soon as possible and offer support, prayers, and assistance as you enter such a difficult time.

. . . I want to be confirmed?
Confirmations Classes for adults and older children are held prior to the Bishop’s annual visit. Please watch the Sunday “This Week…” and The Tidings for details and dates.

. . .  I am going to the hospital?
Contact the office to let us know where and when you will be hospitalized. During admission, indicate that you are an Episcopalian and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Parishioners share the pastoral ministry and need to assist us in the notification process. The Church will not know of your hospitalization unless you tell us or tell a member of your family to call.

. . . I desire a home visit?
Calls are made regularly by clergy and lay ministers. Do not hesitate to contact the parish nurse, Polly Kehn, if you know of a parishioner in need. A Lay Visitor can be called immediately to make a call as well as the clergy.

. . . I wish to have Holy Communion brought to me in the hospital or at home?
Request that the Sacrament be brought when you contact the Parish Office. A Lay Eucharistic Minister is commissioned to bring the sacrament to you and this can be arranged quickly.

. . . my name, address, telephone number (home or office), or marital status changes?
Contact the parish office to keep your information current. If your telephone number is unlisted and you prefer that it not be printed in the church directory, be sure to inform the office.

. . . I want to receive the weekly announcements by E-mail?
Send an email to info@trinityepiscopalchurch.org indicating you would like the weekly announcements emailed to you. You may also call the office and tell the parish secretary.

. . . I want to receive the monthly newsletter (The Tidings) by mail?
Please give your name and address to the office either by email, phone call or stopping by on Sunday morning to leave a note.

. . . I want to enroll a child in Sunday School?
You may simply come on Sunday morning – Sunday School begins at 9:45 – and we will make sure you find the right class for your child/ren. Diane Kinsella is our Director of Christian Education and she is available to speak with you if you have any questions or concerns.
